Professor Gary Egan (BSc (Hons), PhD, MBA)

Florey Neuroscience Institutes

Prof Gary Egan is a Principal Research Fellow and Head of the Neuroimaging and Neuroinformatics Group at the Florey Neuroscience Institutes and Associate Director of the Centre for Neuroscience, Univeristy of Melbourne. Prof Egan's professional experience includes a post-doctoral fellowship in the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in particle physics research, and research positions at the Centre for PET (Austin Hospital), the University of Melbourne, and the Mental Health Research Institute.

The Neuroimaging and Neuroinformatics Group develop tools, databases and techniques for imaging research in humans and small animals. This research includes functional brain mapping projects and methods development for the analysis of neuroimaging data. Prof Egan and his staff bring experience in MRI acquisition and analysis techniques as well as informatics capabilities to the Consortium.
